Keilor Cricket Club has ushered in a new era, launching a new pitch and its first ever under 13 girls’ team.
The team competed in the inaugural Western Region Molly Strano Cup against Caroline Springs in a Twenty 20 fixture recently.
And the club’s female co-ordinator, Jodi Miles, said the team is already turning heads, with two players – Sarah Grunden and Hannah Brne – selected to represent Keilor in the under 12 Western Region Junior Cricket Association Fatone Shield.
With financial backing from Brimbank council, the club installed a hard wicket at the Keilor Recreation Reserve for the 150 and more juniors using it on Friday nights and Saturday mornings.
