Lily and Makayla (pictured) can’t wait for the school holidays to begin. Mum Andrea says the girls are looking forward to hanging out with friends who are also enrolled in Derrimut YMCA’s school holiday program. The kids will go on excursions to Luna Park and an ice-skating rink, participate in a “colour run” and show off their best dance moves in a silent disco. Andrea says the program is perfect for parents who work full-time. “It is very convenient for me – it’s close to my work,” she says. “I like that the kids go and have a good time, make new friends and then come home tired.” The YMCA’s full summer program runs from January 3 until February 1.
