Sunshine Plaza and Maidstone United Soccer Club are hoping to unearth the next generation of Socceroos and Matildas.

The Plaza is set to host an Aldi Mini Roos clinic this Saturday from 11am-2pm.

A large target practice area will be set up and children of all abilities (aged 4-11) will be taken through the basics of the game.

Sunshine Plaza centre manager Ian Simpson said it was a great way to round out the school holidays.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Aldi Mini Roos and Maidstone United to Sunshine Plaza,” he said. “We love the program’s focus on inclusion and the new skills it teaches children as it really ties into our focus on creating a strong community environment – with a fresh food precinct in the centre, the message of keeping active also really resonated.

“Plus, parents may have run out of ideas as the school holidays come to an end, so this is the perfect solution.”

The event provides an opportunity to support local club Maidstone United.

Representatives from the club will be on hand during the event to help impart wisdom and the program will also double as an opportunity to sign up for the season.
