The Pan-Hellenic Women’s Federation of Australia raised more than $3000 at the organisation’s first fundraising event on November 3.

The event was hosted at the Keilor Community Hub in an effort to raise vital funds for cancer research.

The morning tea included a presentation on Cancer Awareness from committee president and former Brimbank mayor Georgina Papafotiou.

Raising exactly $3390, all proceeds will be used to assist world leading cancer research, helping researchers at Peter MacCallum Hospital in Melbourne, make new life-saving discoveries so that people with cancer have the best chance of finding a cure.

Ms Papafotiou said she hopes to make the fundraiser an annual event for the organisation.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who donated online and on the day,” she said.
