Free workshops for job transition support

Brimbank council is running a free three part series of workshops, aimed at developing the skills of parents and carers of young people living with disabilities.

The Parents As Career Transition Support (PACTS) program aims to support parents and carers to have career conversations with the young people in their care, using a coach approach.

If you are a parent or carer who will soon be looking to help your teenager with diverse abilities or additional needs to land their first job, or to gain an understanding of their desired industry, PACTS offers support for the journey.

The sessions, facilitated by the Victorian education department, will support the young people, along with their families, with transitions into the world of work.

The three sessions will look at; beginning to explore the world of work; careers and transition services; and jobs.

The sessions will take place on Wednesday, October 13, Wednesday, October 20 and Wednesday, October 27 each from 5.30pm to 7pm.

Registrations are required, once per family, with the one booking used for all three sessions.
