Free numberplate security screws

Locals can receive free anti-theft security screws for vehicle number plates this weekend at events hosted by Brimbank police in partnership with Brimbank SES and Bunnings Sunshine and Taylors Lakes.

In Brimbank, numberplates are the most common items stolen, accounting for almost 40 per cent of motor vehicle theft offences, according to Victoria Police.

Residents can pick up their free screws at Watergardens Shopping Centre, 399 Melton Highway, Taylors Lakes on Saturday 18 October, from 10am-2pm, and Bunnings Sunshine, 480 Ballarat Roadd, Sunshine on Sunday 19 October, from 10am-2pm.

Police are able to assist with fitting the screws too.
