Up to 30 involved in wild St Albans brawl

The brawl was allegedly pre-arranged between two warring groups.

Up to 30 teenagers are believed to have been involved in an “all-in brawl” at a fast food restaurant in St Albans yesterday which was organised on social media.

Sunshine Police Sergeant Isaac Papadopoulos told reporters this afternoon police were still investigating the “organised fight” at the McDonalds restaurant.

It’s believed baseball bats, machetes and knives were used in the fight around 6pm which was organised on facebook.

Up to 30 youths, aged between 15 and 17, were involved in the fracas with possibly “multiple crime scenes”, police say.

“It appears to be an all-in brawl, where some knives were produced,” Sergeant Papadopoulos said.

“Baseball bats may have been used as well along with machetes or knives as well.

“It’s extreme in these circumstances.

“We know of six people who have been injured… two in a stable condition who have been released.

“We believe all of the people involved are local youths from the area. There’s no gang involvement.”

Four teens are in a stable condition in hospital with stab wounds.

A witness told Channel 7 baseball bats and tree branches were used as weapons.

“We did see some pretty heavy violence go down.

“I would not like to have been on the other side of it,” he said.

“One of them had a baseball bat and he had gloves on and another one had a branch out of a tree.”

Another witness told Channel 9 a man was stomped on as he lay bleeding on the ground.
