Four men charged

Four men have been charged after firearms and drugs were allegedly located during Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) compliance searches in Brimbank on Thursday.

Detectives executed an FPO compliance search in Morris Street, Sunshine, where they allegedly located a semi-automatic handgun and multiple rounds of ammunition.

A 34-year-old Sunshine man was charged with possessing a firearm, contravening a firearms prohibition order and eleven other firearm related offences.

Three men were arrested following searches at properties in Forrest Road and Rockbank Road, Ardeer.

Police allegedly located a hydroponic set-up, drugs and weapons, including a taser, samurai sword and machete

The three men were charged with cultivating a narcotic plant.

Two Ardeer men, aged 58 and 49, will appear at the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court today.

A 39-year-old Ardeer man was bailed to appear at a later date.
