Former Brimbank chief executive Bill Jaboor has been appointed as the new chair of Victoria Legal Aid.
Attorney-General Martin Pakula welcomed Mr Jaboor’s appointment, lauding his project management and leadership accomplishments.
“Mr Jaboor has extensive experience delivering major projects and successfully leading complex corporate and government organisations in Victoria,” Mr Pakula said.
“These skills, along with his dedication to serving the community, will be of immense value in his new role at Victoria Legal Aid and I congratulate him on his appointment.”
As Brimbank chief executive from 2012 to 2015, Mr Jaboor led a number of key projects including the Regional Rail Link and the Sunshine-St Albans National Employment Cluster.
In addition to his stint in Brimbank, Mr Jaboor has also held the position of chief executive at Hobsons Bay, Shepparton and Benalla councils.
He is credited as having helped drive education, employment and development projects in Melbourne’s west in a career which has spanned more than four decades.
In 2009, he was appointed the inaugural chair of the Western Melbourne Regional Development Australia Committee and holds board positions with a range of organisations.
Mr Jaboor commenced his role with Legal Aid on October 1, replacing outgoing chair Andrew Guy.
