With the AFL season set to kick off this weekend, three Western Bulldogs young guns dropped into St Peter’s Primary School at Sunshine last Thursday to pass on some tips.
Jack Redpath, Shane Biggs and Luke Dahlhaus took charge of some 70 pupils in grades 3 and 4, honing their handball and kicking skills on the school’s newly turfed oval.
Deputy principal Maree McIntosh said her pupils grilled the trio during an in-depth question and answer session:
“They asked how do you keep your body fit as an elite athlete … they were also curious about the players’ diet and training regime, views on leadership skills and how the coach gets the best out of his team,” Ms McIntosh said.
