It’s taken 480 working hours, 50 square metres of paper and eight litres of glue to complete and it’s arrived in Taylors Lakes just in time for Mother’s Day.
All it needs now is you and a camera.
Representing the “loving, nurturing heart of mother”, the four metre by four metre, 30-kilogram art installation is the work of Australian paper sculpture artist Ray Besserdin.
The hanging sculpture was unveiled last Thursday and will be open to the public until May 8 at Watergardens Town Centre.
It is Besserdin’s second largest sculpture and the first to be suspended, with its white paper sourced from an old German mill.
Visitors are being invited to pose in front of the sculpture, think about their mums and share their pictures on Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #wingstofly for a chance to win Pandora jewellery to the value of $1000.
