IN FOCUS: The future of radiology

For Future Medical Imaging, the search is always on for the best in care and technology.

Future Medical Imaging Group (FMIG)looks to the future by investing in state-of-the-art technology and producing superior images, ultimately improving the quality of everyday clinical practice and delivering better patient outcomes.

FMIG was founded 17 years ago and is a doctor-owned and operated radiology group, with five practices conveniently located across Melbourne.

And now, in Sunshine, Future Medical Imaging Group has launched a fifth centre, boasting a fully digital radiology service located within Sunshine Plaza.

Dr Anthony Taranto and his three co-directors not only offer standard x-ray services – they go above and beyond on a collective mission to use the most advanced technology to give the best medical care possible.

“Technology in the field has improved immensely over the past 10 to 15 years and it’s a direct result of the power of computing,” Dr Taranto says.

“It’s always been a focus for all of us. It drives us.”

Dr Taranto explains that FMIG has been operating in the western suburbs for many years and is well known in the area.

“So it made sense to build on that trust and the relationship we have with this community,” he says. “We choose to grow here.”

“I really encourage those reading this to go on our website and read about the advancements in technology and new applications for well-established technology,” he says.

“We make sure we keep our website up-to-date so our patients are informed. Myself, together with my co-directors, are dedicated to providing a professional and personalised medical service in a friendly and caring environment, where both doctors and patients are treated with the utmost respect and care.”

Passionate about ensuring it offers the very best care, investing in the most current technology and being affordable, FMIG Sunshine provides the west with an imaging and treatment centre of excellence. Their suite of services include general x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, low dose CT, mammography and bone densitometry, among other services.
