The motto of Tanya and Andrew Carroll is “live strong”.

It’s part of the name of their personal training business and it’s the reason they are running a boot camp fundraiser to support the EB Research Foundation next week.

Livestrong Primal Fitness in Keilor Park has joined five other gyms to run the event, with Mrs Carroll saying it was the perfect way to support the foundation.

“We’ll have boxing, muscle-building, cardio … it’s a good opportunity to get a different workout and raise some money for a good cause,” she said.

The EB Research Foundation supports sufferers of epidermolysis bullosa, a rare genetic condition in which the body is missing a protein that binds skin together, causing it to blister.

Being a family friend of six-year-old EB sufferer Tilly, the Carrolls wanted to help in any way they could.

“We’ve known Tilly since she was born,” Mrs Carroll said.

“The more public exposure we can get, the better.”

Registrations for the event will be capped at 50 participants, with the gym hopeful of making it an annual event.
