Fire in Tullamarine factory

An apparent accidental factory fire in Tullamarine on Friday is being investigated.

Fire crews were called to the Catalina Street factory about 8.20pm after callers reported seeing black smoke coming from the building.

FRV firefighters discovered the rear of the factory well alight on arrival with access to the rear proving an issue.

The fire was contained to the large industrial ovens with smoke filling the entire premises.

The fire was declared under control at 9.11pm.

The cause if the fire appears to be accidental at this stage with investigations ongoing.
