Fire at Salvage centre

A fire at a salvage centre in Ardeer has been brought under control.

FRV and CFA crews were called to the Ballarat Road incident just before 11.10am this morning after reports of smoke coming from a building.

Firefighters arrived on scene in four minutes and evacuated one person, who they transferred into the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

Approximately 30 firefighters are on the scene.

Paramedics assessed the man who was evacuated, but he wasn’t taken to hospital.

Paramedics remain on standby.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined
