Brimbank’s female soccer players will showcase their talents this weekend.

The 2019 Brimbank Female Football Festival will be held this Saturday, March 30, at Keilor Park.

Brimbank mayor Lucinda Congreve said it would be an event for all to enjoy.

“This will be the second annual Brimbank Female Football Festival and it promises to be a fantastic day out for the entire family,” she said.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re a football fanatic or have never even touched a soccer ball before – we’ve got something to suit everyone.”

A seven-a-side community tournament will be one of the highlight events of the festival, which will also include free soccer programs and activities for all ages and skill levels.

Other events will include a soccer mums program, a walking soccer game for those looking to try the game for the first time and a coaching clinic for girls aged 10 to 15.

Former Matilda and Melbourne City goalkeeper Mel Barbieri will be among players making appearances.

Players from Calder United’s women’s side will also participate.

The festival will be held at Keilor Park Recreation Reserve, Stadium Drive, Keilor Park, from 9am.

Registration is required to participate in programs.
