The McKay Garden Festival will bloom in Sunshine this weekend with family fun and entertainment.

The Friends of McKay Gardens will be hosting their fourth Garden Festival in the 110-year-old park.

The fun will unfold at the HG McKay Gardens from noon on Sunday, March 3, and will feature a range of entertainment and heritage activities, as well as food stalls and a fitness corner.

The main entertainment on the day will come from the Christine Ayres Irish dancers, who are the current world champions in their division after success in Glasgow in 2018.

The day will also include music and dance from around the world, a kids corner with face-painting and other competitions, demonstrations from local sports clubs and a display of historical photos.

A sausage sizzle will be run by the Sunshine Scout Group.

Organisers are encouraging residents and visitors to make the most of the festival by enjoying a relaxing picnic, soaking up the community atmosphere and seeing the historic park in all its glory.
