Fatal collision in St Albans

Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian following a fatal collision in St Albans on Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Furlong Road and St Albans Road to reports an incident between a car and a pedestrian about 2.20am.

The male pedestrian, who is yet to be formally identified, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.

The male driver of the car stopped at the scene, spoke to police and was released pending further inquiries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined at this stage.
