“I am so grateful to this young man, I hope that we can find him, so I can shake his hand and say thank you.”

The family of Kenny Yang are seeking to find and thank the mystery young man who helped Mr Yang after he fell near the RT Pollard Gardens last week, close to Sunshine station.

Kenny’s daughter Jacqui said, “Dad was rushing to catch a bus when he took a rather hard tumble. Luckily, there was a young man eating lunch nearby and he immediately rushed to help. He not only helped dad up and offered words of comfort, but when he saw that dad’s hands were scraped and bleeding, he immediately ran to the barber shop around the corner to get bandages and tissues. The young man only let dad go on his way after dad reassured him that he’d be okay.

“My dad was in a hurry at the time and a bit stressed over what happened, so did not remember to ask for this gentleman’s name or contact details. If you are in this group, or know who this young man is, then we would be so grateful if you would get in contact via this group or direct message, as we would love to thank this wonderful man personally for the incredible level of care and kindness he showed that day to a complete stranger.

“Dad has said many times over that he has never met such a good person in his life and that he will remember that kindness for as long as he lives. This young man is a blessing to people and a credit to our community and no doubt you make your family proud. We really hope to be able to thank you for your kindness. We have such a wonderful, compassionate and supportive community in Brimbank!”

Kenny added, “Like many elderly people who can no longer work and whose friends have passed away, many often feel unseen and lonely, knowing now there are so many kind people in our community, I don’t feel so alone anymore. I feel very blessed.

“It truly is amazing how a single act of kindness can have such a huge impact in someone’s life and also uplift an entire community. I think acts like this inspire us all to be kinder and to also look out for others. It definitely makes a nice change to all the negative reports of scammers, hackers and road rage, which sadly, seems to be the norm in our society these days.

I would also like to say to this young man, “I don’t know if you ever got to finish your lunch, but we’d love to take you out for a meal on us, if we can find you!””
