Experience decanted

If you’ve ever wanted to know about wine, but haven’t known where to start, then a lesson from The Wine Whitch might be for you.

Jenny Polack, a wine educator with decades of experience, is bringing one of her renowned classes to Sunshine.

Ms Polack said it’ll be an evening of fun and education.

“We’ll go through a few wines and have some fun,” she said. “I started off in the wine industry extremely accidentally. I was busking in the street and ended up with a part-time job in the bottle shop on the other side of the street.

“I’ve seen a lot of people try to understand wine, so I try to break it down as best possible.”

A variety of Australian wines will be tested on the night, which will demystify the art of wine tasting.

“I give a full explanation on how to taste, what your pallet is capable of and how to pick up on subtle things,” Ms Polack said.

“At the end of the session you’ll be able to understand what you like and don’t like in a wine and be able to break down why.”

The event will be held at the Sunshine Social on Saturday, May 25 from 4-6pm.

Venue manager Gareth Crawford said it’s the first time the Sunshine Social has held such an event and excitement is building.

“We haven’t really done anything like this before, so it’s something we’re definitely looking forward to,” Mr Crawford said. “If all goes well we’ll look to do similar things in the future.” Bookings are essential. Details: 9312 0223
