Duo find joy in painting

Tadros Hanna and Carla Tadros

Tara Murray

Father and daughter duo Tadros Hanna and Carla Tadros made the most of their time at home during lockdown last year.

The artists used the time to produce paintings which have formed the basis of a new exhibition, Home Colours.

The exhibition is a reflection of last year’s lockdown and restrictions, especially for Carla who completed year 12 online.

Carla, who is now studying science at university, has created 10 portraits of celebrities who have had an impact on her.

The celebrities include Amy Winehouse, Frida Kahlo, Frank Sinatra, Charlie Chaplin, Edith Piaf, Aretha Franklin, Prince, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Umm Kulthum.

Tadros’ pieces are abstract acrylic paintings reflecting on the colours of places he has previously visited.

Tadros said he was very proud of his daughter and the work that she has produced for the exhibition.

The exhibition is running at the Hunt Club Community and Arts Centre until April 29.
