Driver nabbed over the limit in Keilor

A 45-year-old man has had his car impounded after he was allegedly caught more than five times over the legal speed limit in Keilor on February 23.

Police were patrolling the Keilor area when they detected a Silver Toyota Camry driving erratically on Bonfield Street at 5.30 pm.

Officers intercepted the vehicle on Bonfield Street and spoke to the driver.

He underwent a preliminary breath test and then accompanied officers to the police station for an evidentiary test where he returned an alleged reading of 0.291.

The Toyota was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1014.90.

He was released and is expected to be charged on summons for drink driving and traffic offences.
