Brimbank, it’s time to make a splash!

The Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre opened its doors on Monday, September 12.

According to Brimbank council, the $62 million leisure centre is an Australian first, all-electric renewable aquatic facility with something for everyone.

The centre features a 50-metre pool with grandstand, a warm water rehabilitation pool, learn to swim area, an aqua playground, spas, sauna, steam room and two water slides.

State-of-the-art wellness and leisure facilities include two-storey gym facilities, reformer pilates and yoga studio, spin cycle studio and tenanted community services facilities upstairs.

All facilities have had sustainability and accessibility at the forefront of design, with every pool featuring an accessible ramp, and where possible accessibility in leisure and wellness classes.

Mayor Jasmine Nguyen said councillors are pleased to finally open the long awaited facility.

“To see the doors finally open on this spectacular centre after many years of planning, development and construction is heart-warming and we’re very excited to now welcome you inside to enjoy what’s on offer,” Cr Nguyen said.

A community open day will take place on Sunday, October 2.
