Brimbank locals can now get their pet cats desexed at a discounted price for a limited time.
Brimbank Council has teamed up with The Vet Project to offer $75 cat desexing for Brimbank residents between September 23, 24 and 25 at Westvale Community Centre, 45 Kings Road, Kings Park.
According to council, all cats in Brimbank aged three months and over must be desexed unless exempt.
Desexing pet cats can reduce the risk of various health issues, including cancer.
Council said desexing also reduces the number of impounded cats, prevents unwanted cat pregnancies, and helps with the management of stray cats.
The price also includes free microchipping and free registration for pet cats until April 10, 2026, with an option to add on vaccinations for $40.
The program is only available to Brimbank residents with a limit of two per household.
