Derrimut house up in flames

A Derrimut home was engulfed in flames on Tuesday night.

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to a house on fire in Derrimut about 7.40pm, following several calls to triple-0.

Crews arrived on scene within six minutes to find the house fully engulfed in fire.

The fire was contained to the unit without any fire spread to neighbouring properties.

All occupants were safely evacuated from the house, however the family needed to be re-housed overnight.

The cause of the fire is not yet known but it will be investigated by FRV specialists.
