Deer Park woman killed by car at bus stop

A 65-year-old Deer Park woman has died after being struck by a car while waiting for a bus on Friday morning.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding accident which occurred in Deer Park about 10.30am.

Officers have been told another Deer Park woman, 55, was driving her car north along Winnington Road.

She reached the intersection of Billingham Road and allegedly lost control of the car while attempting a U-turn.

The car mounted the kerb and struck the woman at the bus stop, before hitting a brick fence and stopping.

Emergency services were called to the scene and treated the 65-year-old who later died.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
