Brimbank will host a number of events to recognise National Reconciliation Week from May 27 to June 3.
The week will be a time for all Australians to learn about the shared histories, cultures and achievements and how each person can contribute to reconciliation.
Council- run events will include storytelling, singing and art in celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
One of the events will feature acclaimed yidiki (didgeridoo) playe,r Johnny Daylight.

Brimbank mayor Jasmine Nguyen said the week provides many free events for community to attend and help tackle” the unfinished business of reconciliation”.
“We have a fantastic range of no charge activities for our community to enjoy in the lead up and over the week, including First Nations storytime for infants, an afterschool activity zone and singing workshops with Kutcha Edwards,” she said.
“There’s also a Songs and Stories show with Kutcha Edwards at the Bowery Theatre in St Albans on May 27.
“The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2022 is ‘Be Brave. Make Change.’
“This sets us a challenge – individuals, families, communities, organisations and government – to Be Brave and tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation so together we can Make Change for the benefit of all Australians.”
