Crime syndicate crackdown continues

Police seized a number of prohibited items from properties in Hillside and Airport West as part ongoing investigation into organised crime syndicates.

The Echo Taskforce executed multiple search warrants across the north western suburbs on Monday, August 1.

A residential property in Hillside and a business address in Airport West were searched, where police seized what they believe to be explosives, a handgun, boxes of various calibres of ammunition, cocaine, steroids and $100,000 in cash.

A 39-year-old Hillside man has charged with firearms, explosives, weapons and drug offences.

The man was released on bail and will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
