The A+ Abbey Solo Foundation T20 cricket match fundraiser is back after two years of postponement due to COVID-19.

The charity, which supports families facing childhood cancer, in collaboration with Victoria Police Cricket Club and Sunshine Heights Cricket Club will hold the cricket match on February 14.

The charity helps families pay for accommodation costs so they can be close to the hospital where their children are receiving treatment, as well as emotional support.

The foundation was set up to file the dying wish of Abbey Solo who died of cancer in 2015 at just nine.

Her wish was to support families who live in country Victoria or interstate who have children receiving cancer treatment at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

As well as the action on the field, there will be plenty of action off field as well.

There will be barbecue, DJ, face painting, an ice cream van and pending no emergencies, the mounted police branch horses, police cars, fire trucks and firefighters.

There will also be raffles with all funds going to the charity.

The match will be played from 5pm at Ainsworth Reserve.
