Fire crews are working to determine the cause of a fire at a factory in Sunshine overnight.
Fire Rescue Victoria received a call about 10.30pm on Thursday after a passerby saw a column of black smoke coming from a nearby industrial area.
Crews arrived on scene to find smoke billowing from the rear of a single storey brick factory on Third Avenue. Once inside it was found an e-waste shredding hopper and its contents were on fire.
The fire was contained to the hopper, however there was thick smoke throughout the factory.
The Environment Protection Authority, Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria also attended the fire.
