Creekside College has talent.
The Caroline Springs school recently took out a swag of awards at the annual Science Talent Search competition.
The talent search is open to all primary and secondary students in Victoria and receives thousands of entries each year.
Creekside College had 12 students participate – four of whom took home prizes.
The school’s primary science teacher Nichole Fraser said it was a fantastic achievement.
“To have four of our 12 entrants take out major and minor bursary awards is a testament to the commitment of our students,” she
said.
“The fact that our winners were in prep and in grades 1, 2 and 3 was also amazing
and really showcases terrific parental support too.”
Shudham (prep), Aarya (grade 1), Greneth (grade 2) and Ethan (grade 3) were the school’s award winners.
“Shudham created a model called Secret Messages and Aarya showcased photography with pictures of penguins,” she said.
“Then we had Greneth and Ethan create posters to the themes of ‘made in Australia’ and ‘ideas that changed people’.
“We had 12 entrants this year, which is about average for us. It’s a voluntary thing, so it can be a bit tricky to get numbers, but hopefully this inspires a few students.”
