The families of five cousins who were injured after a collision in Caroline Springs last Thursday have thanked the public and emergency services for their assistance after the crash.

Witnesses told Star Weekly a truck and a Subaru Liberty collided at the intersection of Caroline Springs Boulevard and Commercial Road about 4pm.

One witness said she was in the McDonalds restaurant when she heard the bang and soon saw people tending to the injured on the road.

Barbara Charan’s two sons, her two nephews and a niece were involved in the accident.

“We would like to sincerely thank all who helped our kids Alisha, Kaiz, Aaron, Zamil and Kyle,” she said on Monday.

“Our children are all thankfully recovering and they would like to thank you all for your kindness and support in a distressing situation.

“From us, the parents, we wish to thank the many people who chose to stop and help. You stopped traffic, held our babies hands, and comforted them when we were physically unable to do so ourselves … Our gratitude goes beyond words.

“We are so thankful to the police, firemen, and paramedics who attended the scene. We understand how tough your job is every day and we know it was tough on this day.”
