Councilors host pop-up events to reconnect with community

Brimbank council will host four pop-up events this weekend to give the community an opportunity to ask local councillors questions and find out more about what the council is doing.

The pop-up events will be on Saturday April 2 and Sunday April 3 in local parks and shopping strips.

Attendees can ask about a range of topics including council’s federal advocacy priorities, the proposed 4-bin waste collection service and the Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre memberships.

The Grasslands ward will be located at Kevin Flint Memorial Reserve, Cairnlea near the off-leash dogpark on Saturday April 2 between 10am and 12pm.

The Harvester ward will be located at Hampshire Road, Sunshine near the Brimbank Community and Civic Centre on Saturday April 2 between 2:30pm and 4:30pm.

The Horseshoe Bend ward will be located at Keilor Village Shopping Centre, Old Calder Highway, Keilor on Sunday April 3 between 10am and 12pm.

The Taylors ward will be located at The Lakes Reserve, Taylors Lakes on Sunday April 3 between 2:30pm and 4:30pm.

Brimbank Mayor Jasmine Nguyen said: “Councillors are really excited about these pop-up events and being able to reconnect after COVID-19 limited our ability to hold face-to-face events.”

“These pop-up events are another way we can get feedback from the community and make sure people are up to date with council news and information.”
