Councillors out in the community

Brimbank councillors will be out and about in Brimbank as part of the next round of Let’s Talk Brimbank community sessions.

The sessions offer the community an opportunity to meet their local councillors, ask questions and find out more about what the council is doing in the community.

Starting this week, there’s six sessions in this round of community engagement between September and the middle of December.

The sessions will occur in St Albans, Taylors Lakes, Ardeer, Keilor and Sunshine with the council trailer appearing at some of the council’s big community events.

The next session is on Saturday at the Traditional Full Moon Festival in St Albans between 10am and 12pm.

Information will be available at the sessions on a range of topics including the council budget, advocacy priorities, the new leisure centre and an update on Brimbank’s waste and recycling services.

Brimbank Mayor Jasmine Nguyen these sessions would help the council further understand what the community was concerned about,

“Brimbank councillors are really excited about these pop-up events and we look forward to meeting many community members over the next few months,” she said.

“Please come by and say hello. We are keen to hear about what matters to you in your local community.

“These pop-up events are another way we can get feedback from the community and make sure people are up to date with council news and information.”
