Councillor Trung Luu to run for Liberal party

Councillor Trung Luu will run in the upcoming state election in November.

Brimbank Councillor Trung Luu has been recommended as the liberal party’s second preference in the upcoming upper house state election for the Western Metro Region .

Cr Luu is one of three recommendations that were announced at a Liberal party convention over the weekend with the parties first pick, Moira Deeming from Melton City Council and third pick Golam Haque who has been a previous candidate for Melton City Council Councillor.

With the addition of Cr Luu, Brimbank Council will have three councillors who will be running in the upcoming state election.

Other councillors who will be running include Maria Kerr who has been selected for pre-selection with the Liberal party for the seat of St Albans and Virginia Tachos who will be running as an independent.

Prior to running for council he had worked in the government sector for over twenty years, Cr Trung is on both the committee for Sunshine Town Centre Partnership Group and the Brimbank Arts Advisory Committee and he has been a councillor with Brimbank since 2020.
