Council to hold two safety forums

Victoria Police will be on hand to discuss crime trends and preventative measures at next week’s Community Safety forums.

Brimbank council will host two forums – one in Sunshine and the other in Keilor – and mayor John Hedditch said strong attendance would help make Brimbank safer.

“We want all Brimbank residents to feel safe and confident in our community,” Cr Hedditch said.

“These forums are an opportunity to work together to achieve that goal.

“Community safety involves the whole community taking action.

“All levels of government, Victoria Police and the wider community – including residents, businesses and service providers – have important roles to play.”

Residents will be able to ask police officers questions and hear about safety initiatives, crime prevention techniques and crime trends in the Brimbank area.

The first forum will be held in Sunshine at the Brimbank Community and Civic Centre on Monday, October 16.

The second will be held at Keilor Community Hub on Thursday, October 19.

Both 90-minute sessions will begin at 7pm, with registration running from 6.30pm.
