Brimbank council has been continuing to support local businesses and residents as the state reopens this weekend.
The council’s COVID business support officers have been working directly with Brimbank businesses to raise awareness and provide support about COVID safe requirements and restrictions, including the new settings for reopening.
The team have been working across a range of Brimbank shopping strips and commercial precincts, providing information and advice about COVID safe business requirements, and helping businesses prepare for reopening.
The council has also expanded the COVID connector program, which acts as a one stop shop to provide practical help, including temporary food relief, vaccine and isolation information and information on how to connect vaccination certificates.
Brimbank Mayor Ranka Rasic said they were excited that businesses were reopening.
“As restrictions begin to lift in Victoria and life starts to look a little more normal, it is possible the number of infections will rise but so will the levels of vaccinated community members.
“It’s important to look after yourself and others. If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, you must get tested and stay home.
“The COVID Connector Program is just one of the ways council supports health partners and the community. Our teams can provide information and practical help to those who need it.”
