Colourful brew for Brimbank

Brimbank’s cultural diversity has been celebrated with performances and a pop-up cafe lighting up St Albans.

St Albans town centre came alive from March 23 to 25 as part of Cultural Diversity Week, with more than 1000 visitors enjoying performances and food from across the 160 nationalities represented in Brimbank.

Mayor Margaret Giudice said it was a chance to showcase the diversity that makes Brimbank great.

“The food and entertainment was a beautiful reflection of the kind of people that make up the place we call home,” she said.

The pop-up cafe was a particular hit, with treats from local traders representing the area’s cultural communities.

The celebration was also part of a new council-led campaign, Welcome We Are Brimbank, which has been developed to showcase Brimbank’s diverse communities to the rest of Melbourne.
