Coles rolls out additional-needs trolleys

Supermarket giant Coles has started rolling out special needs trolleys for children with a disability.

Based on a US model known as Caroline’s Cart, the trolleys can seat children weighing up to 70 kilograms, and are padded on the sides, and have a harness and extra support.

The special needs trolleys are available from customer service desks at Bacchus Marsh, Burnside, Caroline Springs, Melton South and Melton West stores.

Coles Caroline Springs customer service manager Alicia Impey said: “The trolley ensures that parents and carers no longer need to juggle a wheelchair and shopping basket during their shop.”
