Charges follow dramatic pursuit

Police have charged a woman and a teenage boy following a dramatic car chase through Sunshine West yesterday.

Police initiated a pursuit with an allegedly stolen car at 11am on July 10, and the car was allegedly involved in a collision with a police vehicle some time later.

Three people from Hoppers Crossing were arrested soon after in the car.

A 36-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy have been charged with offences including theft of a motor vehicle, committing an indictable offence while on bail, aggravated intentional exposure of an emergency worker to risk by driving, evading police and conduct endangering life.

The woman has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today  (July 11).

The teenager was additionally charged with ramming a police vehicle and has been remanded to appear at a children’s court.

A 14-year-old boy was released without charge.
