Caroline Springs woman charged over alleged cancer con

A Caroline Springs woman has been arrested over an alleged cancer con.

Police say the 26-year-old falsely claimed she had liver cancer between March and April this year.

As a result, a “large” number of friends and family donated more than $9000, to the woman.

The 26-year-old was charged on Monday morning with one count of obtaining property by deception, and has been bailed to appear at Sunshine Magistrate’s Court on March 12.
