Works will begin on the new Caroline Springs train station next month.

The state government announced on Monday that BMD Construction will deliver Melbourne’s newest V/Line station between Deer Park and Rockbank stations, with ramps, CCTV cameras and facilities for Protective Services Officers.

The station will also have a car park with 350 spaces, bus bays, a taxi rank and drop-off zone.

Kororoit MP Marlene Kairouz said the station would cater for an anticipated 1500 commuters each day when it opens in 2016.

More to come
