Caroline Springs family’s home invasion terror

Police are looking for two men, armed with a metal pole and firearm, who forced their way into a Caroline Springs home last night.

The men kicked down the door at the Barn Elms Parade house, where a man and a woman were home with their three children about 10.40pm.

Victoria Police spokeswoman Sergeant Sharon Darcy said when the men entered the house, the woman hid behind the kitchen, while the man was instructed to lie down on the floor.

“One of the offenders pointed the firearm at him and discharged a single round in his direction, impacting the wall behind him,” she said.

Both offenders then fled the property and were last seen running east on Barn Elms Parade towards Caroline Springs Boulevard.

No one was injured.

The offender, armed with the metal bar, is described as about 170 centimetres tall, slim build and spoke with a Middle Eastern accent. He was wearing dark-coloured clothing, with a black mask covering his face.

The other man, with the firearm, was also about 170 centimetres tall, medium to solid build, with a big head and a broad face. He spoke with an Islander or New Zealand accent and was wearing dark-coloured clothing and a mask.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
