Carjacking help sought

Police are appealing for information following a terrifying attempted carjacking in Taylors Lakes last month.

On Tuesday, March 13 a woman aged in her forties stopped at the traffic lights near the intersection  of Parmelia Drive and the Melton Highway about 5:40 pm.

It is believed that a man, who was in the passenger seat of a champagne-coloured Mitsubishi Magna which had pulled up beside the woman’s vehicle, got out of the car and repeatedly smashed on the victim’s car using his fist.

He made demands for the woman to get out of her car but she managed to drive away unharmed.

Investigators have released a composite image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is believed to be of Caucasian appearance and about 175cm tall with a thin build, hazel eyes and shaved brown hair.

He was wearing a multi-coloured tank top and khaki cargo pants.

Anyone who recognises the man or the vehicle, or has any information regarding the incident, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
