Car stranded on train tracks at Sunshine

A car has managed to end up on the railway tracks in Sunshine after appearing to lose control on Harvester Road

The car appeared stranded on train lines, north west of Sunshine station this afternoon.

Police believe the driver lost control and crashed through a fence before ending up on the tracks about 2.20pm.

No one was injured, but the accident has affected Sunbury Line Metro services, with buses running between Sunshine and Albion stations.

Sunshine resident Merryn Woolcock posted these pictures to a popular Sunshine Facebook page shortly after the accident.

In one of the pictures (top) police officers can be seen speaking to a person next to the tracks on Harvester Road.

Star Weekly has sought comment from Public Transport Victoria and Victoria Police.
