A police raid on a Derrimut this morning has uncovered 750 cannabis plants worth ‘hundreds of thousands of dollars’.

Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives, who executed a drugs warrant at the Flynn Court address around 6.30am, are spending the day examining and dismantling equipment.

Acting Detective Sergeant Kris Hamilton said an early search yesterday around 3.30pm found the warehouse was empty apart from the plants valued “well into the hundreds of thousands of dollars” in 18 individual rooms.

Police say they were tipped off about the plants, but have yet to arrest anyone.

“We haven’t found anybody here so nobody’s been arrested for this,” he said.

“There’s no legitimate business operating.

“We have a lot of hydroponic set ups in residential houses … this is one of the larger ones we’ve found in recent months.”
