More than 15,000 drivers were issued infringement notices after being caught on camera breaking the law by two cameras in Brimbank in the last financial year.
Recently released data on the cameras saves lives website revealed the top 50 locations where safety camera infringements had been issued between April and June last year, and for the whole of the 2020-21 financial year.
A camera capturing two of the south bound lanes of the Western Ring Road at the Fullarton Road Bridge in Keilor Park was ranked ninth in the three months to June.
In the three month period, 2322 fines were issued from infringements at that site.
There were 7677 infringements issued from that camera in the 2020-21 financial year, the 12th most in the state.
Another camera on the Western Ring Road, on lane four of the south bound at Boundary Road in Sunshine West was ranked 13th in the financial year.
In the 2020-21 financial year, 7485 fines were issued as a result of that camera.
A camera on lane three at the same location was also in the top 50 locations for the last financial year.
An intersection at Rosanna Road and Darebin Street in Heidelberg continues to be the top speed camera in terms of infringements issued.
In the 2020-21 financial year, 53,739 infringements were issued from footage taken from that camera.
A speed camera at Melbourne Airport continues to catch drivers out.
A camera at the intersection of Terminal Drive and Centre Road resulted in 7421 infringements being used in the three months to June.
It had the second most infringements issued in the 2020-21 financial year, with 24,332 infringements issued.
The total number of infringements issued for the 2020-21 financial year was 384,750.
