Calling all local creatives

Expressions of interest are now open for emerging writers or performers who live, work, study or play in Brimbank to take part and present a reading, writing or storytelling event for the 2024 Brimbank Writers and Readers Festival.

The Brimbank Writers and Readers Festival (BWRF) is an annual event that encourages a love of reading and literature, celebrates creativity and diversity, and promotes lifelong learning in Brimbank.

The 10 day program of workshops, author talks, panel discussions, creative and professional writing, storytelling and more is free of charge for the community.

In 2024 the festival will celebrate its 19th year and is set to take place from March 14-23, 2024, and the community is being invited to get involved.

The BWRF is looking for a panel discussion or author talk for up to three authors or emerging writers to showcase their published work.

There is also an opportunity for an open event, for individuals and community groups, which could include, a workshop, a spoken word performance, a public reading, a book launch or an exhibition.

The online Expression of Interest form must be completed by Sunday, August 20, 2023.

Successful entrants will be notified by the end of October 2023.
