Police have intercepted a Cairnlea driver allegedly travelling 116km/h in a 60km/h zone on Ballarat Road in Footscray.
The 53-year-old man completed an evidentiary breath test and police say he returned a positive result of 0.069B
The vehicle was impounded at a cost of $878.50 and the driver will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court at a later date for charges relating to excessive speed and drink driving offences.
