Brimbank writers in the limelight

Seven winners of the 2015 Brimbank Writers Awards, chosen from more than 320 entries, were announced earlier this month at Overnewton Castle, Keilor, during the final event of the Brimbank Writers and Readers Festival.

Roland Burrows claimed the ‘best adult short story’ gong, Emily Stevenson wrote the ‘best teenage short story’, and Adam Stone won the songwriting prize with Christmas Day.

They shared with four others more than $3500 prizemoney across seven divisions. The awards are open each year to writers who live, work or study in Brimbank.
